Good morning Fairbanks Families and Staff,
Yesterday, the facility ballot issue did not pass. These funds would have been used to develop Phase II of the Master Facility Plan for Fairbanks Local Schools. This has been a three-year process that has included students, teachers, support staff, administrators, board members, parents and members of our community. The needs shared over the last several years have not changed. We will continue working with our community to develop solutions for the short, intermediate, and long term needs of Fairbanks Local Schools.
Our Board of Education will continue to work alongside our school community to improve our facilities. Over the next several months, we will be financing the Permanent Improvement Levy that was approved in November of 2023. Priorities for these funds will be system replacement such as HVAC and electrical, capacity issues, and security in the high school and middle school. These are the communityās schools. Our district will continue to be good stewards of the district's current resources to address needs outlined in the Master Facility Plan. Please look for continued updates on our website, email, and other outlets to share the work happening across Fairbanks.
Strong school systems are a reflection of strong communities. Fairbanks is a strong school system in a strong community. We have a deep history of caring for and supporting each other. I look forward to continuing to build our shared future together.
Go Panthers,
Adham Schirg
Superintendent
Fairbanks Local School district
